It provides students direct experience with nature, farming, ecology, cooking, and sustainable living. The program teaches these concepts through team building games and activities, sports activities, group meal preparation, nature hikes (both during the day and at night), camping in teepees, and campfire songs. In addition to this, the students travel to the near by ocean beach and tide pools to round out the nature education experience.
