Please join me in supporting social studies, history, and civics classrooms. As a former history teacher (10 years at Hammond High in Maryland), I know how much these subjects get the back seat to science and math classes. Yet without the critical thinking and communication skills developed in social studies classes, communities become isolated and narrow-minded.
