I am the only music teacher at my high school of 1,300. I teach in the Pullman neighborhood which is 98% African-American. Due to the limited funding and our current economic situation, our budget is very tight. We really need music textbooks,theory books, manuscript paper and desks. Music is a universal language that reaches into the depths of every soul. We celebrate with music, we're empowered by music, we express ourselves through music, and we turn to music at our greatest times of need. This is one of those times of need. Your donation can help my students embrace and discover music talent and a source of expression that speaks more than any language or words ever could. Your donation could help my students find a motivation to keep them in the classroom and off of the streets. I want to show them that there’s more to music than nudity and foul language.
