Dear Friends, As we embark on a new year, we feel re-energized with hope and possibility. Every year we make (and sometimes break) new years resolutions. Dear Friends, As we embark on a new year, we feel re-energized with hope and possibility. Every year we make (and sometimes break) new years resolutions. In a year that promises great change, let us resolve to start the year optimistically. Together, and through education, I hope we can better the lives of students at the Facing History School in New York City, where my friend Anna is a teacher. Currently, Anna is trying to pilot an independent reading investment program for her ninth grade students. This is a program that inspires young people to be actively engaged in reading, to develop critical thinking skills, and to think about the world they inhabit. (View proposal below) Please help make Anna's proposal a reality by donating any amount with which you are comfortable. For those of you who do not know Anna personally, Anna is an extremely hard-working teacher, very much loved by her students; her positive spirit is infectious. I know that Anna would want nothing more for her birthday than help with her proposal to fund books for her students.
