I am a 12th grade English teacher in a Bronx public school and I would like to do something special and inspiring for my students in order to get them interested in poetry. April is national poetry month and I hope to take them to the Bowery Poetry Club for a one-day workshop. I am a 12th grade English teacher in a Bronx public school and I would like to do something special and inspiring for my students in order to get them interested in poetry. April is national poetry month and I hope to take them to the Bowery Poetry Club for a one-day workshop. The Slam Chops field trip introduces students to poetry and performance in a modern setting and allows them to interact with professionals in the field. I think this trip will encourage them to be less inhibited and held back by fear of what others may think. My students do not always take advantage of their freedom of expression in positive ways and I want to help them channel their creativity. The cost of the day trip is seven dollars per student and I would like to take forty students. The total cost of the gift I am asking for is $280. Thanks for your consideration. hide
