Here's how to sort the projects on this page so you can see what's most urgent. You'll also be able to sort by subject, place, etc.

The page almost entirely excludes merely nice-to-have items like digital cameras and new computers because spending money there means real necessities don't get funded. Schools can obtain - FOR FREE - computers to meet virtually any school need by applying to charities which give used computers to schools. For example, check out Free Geek and the government program for giving schools free computers. The original Free Geek is a ten year old nonprofit in Portland, Oregon; affiliates are popping up around the country.

DonorsChoose projects always expire at midnight ET; they stay on "less than an hour left" status for hours. On the last day, add 5 to the listed # of hours left to get the true time remaining. If a project expires without being funded, you can easily apply your returned donations to other projects of your choice.
