<h2><strong>Welcome educators!</strong></h2> <p> Chevron is offering select funding for projects that focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Teachers are encouraged to submit funding requests for classroom materials and experiences that will inspire classroom innovation and enhance the learning environment for students. <p> Read through the rules below to ensure your project is eligible for this offer, then visit <strong><a href="http://www.donorschoose.org/teachers">www.donorschoose.org/teachers</a> </strong>to start your project. <p> <strong>Rules and restrictions:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Projects submitted in the following subject areas will be considered: <strong>Math & Science, Special Needs and Applied Learning,</strong> with a priority on Math & Science projects. All projects must show alignment with Math or Science content standards.</li> <li>Only requests submitted between <strong>3/14/11 and 4/25/11</strong> will be considered. Funding and notification will take place on May 20, 2011.</li> <li>Chevron will select only <strong>one project per teacher</strong> based on submission date and will fund <strong>up to $1,500</strong> in total costs (including shipping, taxes, optional donation to DonorsChoose.org, etc.).</li> <li>You must be teaching grades K-12 in a public school in Kern County or one of the following districts: Coalinga-Huron Joint Unified, San Ardo Union Elementary, King City Union, or Reef-Sunset Unified.</li> </ul> <p> <strong>NOTE</strong>: If you receive educational technology devices through this opportunity (e.g. iPads, laptops, document cameras), you will be required to attend a mandatory workshop facilitated by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools-Educational Technology Department (formerly known as “CTAP”). KCSOS will contact you with more details after selection and funding. Teachers are advised to consult school districts’ policies on the purchase of materials and equipment prior to making a funding request. hide
