My Project

Our project May Mental Health Awareness supplies will provide our school with resources and tools to elevate their mental health needs during May Mental Health Awareness Month.

Our students are full of creativity, big ideas, and potential — and with your help, we can give them the space and tools to shine.

Our students deserve a space that sparks creativity, supports emotional wellness, and encourages joyful learning! We’ve launched a DonorsChoose project to bring in art supplies, cozy seating, fidget tools, board games, and snacks to create a classroom where every child feels safe, supported, and ready to grow. Students will use paints, markers, and collage tools during weekly creative expression activities that support social-emotional learning and cross-curricular projects. Art empowers students to process emotions, build confidence, and take pride in their work. Comfortable seating and floor cushions will turn corners of our room into calm, welcoming zones for quiet reflection or group collaboration — perfect for students who need a sensory break or a cozy spot to focus. Fidget toys help students stay regulated and focused throughout the day, especially those with ADHD, anxiety, or sensory needs. When students are calm, they’re ready to learn. Games like Battleship and cooperative strategy games will be used during social skills lessons, indoor recess, and reward time. They help build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving in fun, low-pressure ways. A small snack can make a big difference in helping students stay energized and engaged, especially those who may not always have food at home. Full bellies = focused minds.

Every student deserves a space at school that feels like a second home — creative, supportive, and full of possibilities.
