This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work as a social worker on campus and am the main point person for students experiencing mental health issues. I frequently provide counseling for 6th to 8th grade students, as well as run school-wide mental health campaigns.

These supplies will be used in my individual counseling sessions to help promote mindfulness and sensory relaxation, as well as in school campaigns around mental health and bullying.

Students will have access to a variety of journaling supplies, art supplies, and stress toys, which will ultimately assist in deescalating students and helping them stay more present and engaged in session.
