My Project

In education, we know that there are higher needs of children that must be met in order to learn. Many of our children do not have their basic personal care and hygiene needs fulfilled to be successful in the classroom. Hopefully, we will could distribute items to the teachers to give to students at their own discretion or possibly create a Caring Closet to distribute items anonymously. This project will help us start the school year off satisfying some of those student needs.

We intend to use the supplies to make the classroom environment more comfortable for students' success.

The materials purchased will help the students with personal care, hygiene, and hunger. Extra school polos shirts can help if the students have grown out of theirs or if they are not clean. Body wipes, lotion, and deodorant can be used to help keep the body clean and fragrant. The toothbrush kit can also help with oral hygiene. The snacks will be given to students that are hungry and need something small to eat to satisfy that need.

As teachers, we know that our jobs consist of more than teaching the subject matter. Student have personal care and hygiene needs just like everyone else. It is extremely hard to teach a student who does not feel whole within themselves.

Hopefully, the materials that are requested can help our students to feel comfortable within themselves, which will allow them to become completely successful in our classrooms.
