My Project

This year I have had the chance to work with many newcomer students in third, fourth, and fifth grade. These students are intelligent, work hard, and love to read books! They are making incredible progress on their English skills, while still maintaining their Spanish language skills.

There's just one thing - we need more books in Spanish so that my students have a chance to read the books they enjoy and can experience many different genres of books!

My Spanish-speaking students deserve to have the same opportunities and resources that my English-speaking students do! By providing lots of different books in Spanish, my students will get more of a choice in what they read- and that's a good idea in any language!
