My Project

Students should love learning! They should feel free to share their ideas, challenge themselves, and try new things. To do this they need to feel safe and part of a family of friends who will support them in their learning journey.

An environment that fosters interaction, camaraderie, and support will be comfortable but challenging.

Cozy chairs to sit in while interacting and reading together gives them a place to interact naturally and do work in an inviting and comfortable space. Read aloud books are perfect for introducing and promoting the feeling of a "family of friends" and an environment where community members are invested in each other and support one another. Sand trays and decodable readers are tools students can use to learn letters, sounds, and words in a fun, tactile way building confidence and encouraging children to try new things and build necessary skills.

The items I am seeking to bring to my classroom will help in creating and maintaining a classroom of children who love learning, will try new things, and will feel safe and welcome in doing so with each other.
