My Project

These resources are going to up our first grade's game in learning! In Oklahoma, the weather can be very unpredictable resulting in many inside recess days. I am asking for new floor puzzles, Magna-tiles, WikkiSticks, and connecting tubes to use during not only recess but STEM activities, team building exercises, and free time for them to explore. These items will help students with critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. Our school is also getting a new reading intervention program based online. Students will be able to use the headphones with working microphones to talk, decode, and read within the program. These headphones are a portion of the budget simply because a large number of students in class may not be in the position to provide their own. If these headphones were already at school and readily available for use, students would be able to have all of the supports and resources needed to reach their fullest potential from the program. I'm asking for a classroom library cart and a set of "A Little Spot of..." books for literacy in the classroom. The classroom cart will be a new way for our class to categorize and store our classroom library. It will also be a great way for students to identify what level of reading material will suit them best with the labeled buckets. The students can even pick it out their leveled books independently once they are taught the way the cart is categorized. I used "A Little Spot of..." books last year to teach feelings and social emotional skills. These will be a great set of books to add to the new cart and to teach students with. Thanks for reading!
