Reading Brightens Any Child's Future

Help me give my students a library that will allow each of them to grow as a reader.

My Students

This school year I teach students ages 11-14 with a variety of learning disabilities at the middle school level. Many of my students live in situations many would say were not ideal. The majority of our students are from low-income families and receive free or reduced lunch.

My students have great attitudes and dreams.

They are reading at a first-third grade level. As their teacher, I want them to be successful readers. I want to provide them with reading materials that will increase their reading levels and strengthen their love for reading.

My Project

The books will make a difference in my students' learning not just in reading, but allow them to become more confident in reading anything that is put in front of them. I will use these materials to have "Guided Reading Groups" and also allow my students to have a more interesting and appealing library.

If provided with these materials, it would give my students a better chance of becoming better readers.

I want them to fall in love with reading while not feeling pressure when asked to read as a group or independently aloud.

Please help me build my classroom library and create the ability to have guided reading groups!
