My students need Chromebooks to provide additional classroom support in regards to their success with the English language and the required academic skills that are required for proficiency.
My classroom is considered a second home to many of my students. I am lucky to teach English Language Learners in grades 6-8 in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
My students come from many diverse cultures and they face unique challenges in our public education system.
Most of my students and their families are new to the United States and have limited English proficiency. The cultural diversity in our school is what makes our classrooms so vibrant and unique. Everyday I am witness to the extraordinary resilience, hard work and determination of my students to acquire a second language.
My Project
Students need to have access to modern day technolgy in order to succeed in today's world. Providing our classes with the Chromebook as a means of additional classroom support would play a major role in regards to their success with the English language and the required academic skills that are required for all students to move forward.
Technology empowers our students with accountability for their own education and style of learning.
Enabling children with access to a class set of laptops will greatly enhance the way our ESL students learn. Chromebook will provide the students with online translation, videos, images, and a variety of strategies to apply to their learning.
