My students need a smart cutting machine to use in my sewing and art classes at school.

My Students
I have the privilege of teaching at a very special school. Our kids love learning and are an absolute pleasure to work with. I've been associated with 5 other schools and this one is just so outstanding--so incredibly special.
Over 85% of our children are receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
We are in very rural part of Arkansas, deep in the Ozark hills. Many of our kids have never been more than a few hours from home. Despite poverty and geographic isolation, our kids love learning. Our school has about 200 children, K-12. I teach art and family and consumer sciences (which includes personal finance, parenting, child development, and more).
My Project
This innovative machine cuts fabric, paper, and numerous other materials. It will make a huge impact in my sewing curriculum and will also be a major benefit for my K-12 art program.
Our primary purpose for this technology will be for use in quilting and other sewing projects.
While many schools do away with sewing and other practical skills, I teach an entire sewing course. This will really open doors for students and show them how much they can accomplish in the world of sewing.
This technology will also impact my art students across all grade levels. There are countless opportunities for creativity with this machine from sewing, to pop up books, to soft sculpture.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
