Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are hungry for good books! I teach 2nd grade in a high-need community. My second graders love coming to school every day and are so enthusiastic about reading!

Many of my students don't have books to read at home. At our school we use a web-based reading program in which students can take quizzes on books they have read to earn points towards various academic rewards. My students love to read, but our classroom library does not have many books that are at their independent reading levels.

We would love to have a classroom library that includes books of all levels in order to encourage students to be successful,confident,independent readers.

You will make it possible for the second grade students in our classroom to be motivated to excel in literacy! At our school we know that readers are leaders! When you help students like mine, you are truly making a difference!
