My students need these supplies like construction paper, crayons, and composition notebooks for writers workshop so that they can continue to produce their wonderful work.
I have a group of 20 First graders who come to school everyday with a smile on their face. Many of my students are suffering hardships at home, have endured some type of abuse or are not getting any academic support from their family. With this being said, they still come into our classroom everyday ready to learn. They are eager to see what the day holds, they adhere to our classroom rules and treat each other with respect. I am so proud of each and every one of them. I want to make sure that they have everything that they need to succeed in school. This is my privilege.
My Project
These supplies will be used during out writers workshop. Unfortunately, many of my students are unable to purchase supplies for school. Writer's workshop should be fun and allow them the chance to be creative.
Colorful paper will DISPLAY their work.
It is so important to display their work because they put their effort into it, they are proud of it, and as their teacher I am too! I want the whole school to see it. We will also use this paper for different crafts through out the year. Unfortunately, we are not given any arts and craft supplies to use through out the year with our students.
Pencils are so important. These will be start for us. We go through SO many pencils in First grade. Any writing supplies are GREATLY appreciated, whether it be pencils, erasers, notebooks, crayons, markers, etc. I never want my students to feel as if they have to go without because their parents could not afford it.
Composition notebooks will be used during their writers workshop block. The notebooks that I have ordered have a special spot for pictures. First graders love this.
Thank you for any help toward my classroom. My students deserve it!
