Students need grade level text to expand their reading horizons. New titles excite and motivate students to read. Reading is fundamental and helps students grow into globally minded citizens. These guided reading books will help build student confidence at their current reading level. This confidence will help them to fall in love with reading. Once they have been hooked the sky is the limit for them. Students will become self motivated and build their self efficacy through reading.as they read guided reading texts they will also gain a better understanding of what they are reading and build comprehension skills. Once they learn to understand text they are better able to build personal opinions and argue for or against the topics presented in these new text. Having these new books will send the message to my students that informed and critical reading will lead them to success. Their teacher believes it and so do those that make this project successful.
