My fifth grade students are limited in many resources at home and at school because of the low-economic area they live in. Some of my students are English Learners and need visual and auditory aids to better learn math concepts. As a fifth grade teacher, I want to build on what their previous teachers have instilled in them and create a new outlook by giving them the opportunity to explore various strategies of learning math through creative learning workstations and the use of manipulatives.
