My ELL students are hardworking, determined, and a funny bunch of kids who brighten my world. They challenge themselves to do better, to participate more, and to help one another. I support each student when it comes to taking the lead when it comes to certain activities, which could be difficult for them if the English language is still in the developmental stage. I encourage each child to stand and be a leader because having the confidence to stand in front of others needs to be developed starting from elementary so when the time comes it will come naturally to them. Each lesson they unlock a skill that was unfamiliar, which is something they love to do. It's also something that makes me proud because it allows me to see each student come into my class with a smile, and leave with smiles knowing they have met their targeted growth for that day or week. They are the young of today, but the leaders of tomorrow.
