Flexible seating allows students to take ownership of their learning by empowering them to make choices that will benefit them. Currently, my students are encouraged to select a spot that works best for them to complete their independent work, such as various tables, large pillows, or using lap desks and clipboards on the floor. Whether it be in a chair at a desk, or underneath it, my students are more engaged in their learning, and less disruptive, when they are allowed to select their workspace. The products I have selected will help my students by giving them flexible seating options to help them take ownership of their learning. These options will allow them to move and wiggle about without disrupting themselves or others. I know that these seating options will have a positive effect on my first graders' lives by giving them a learning space they are eager to come to each day.
