My students are special needs children who suffer from emotional disturbance and come from low socioeconomic settings. Most of them live in high risk areas of violence, and their school settings are their only source of positive influence. Above whatever outside situations my students may come from, I see a lot intelligence and potential in every single one of them. As long as I can strive to make learning fun to them, I see how great and successful they can end up. I see how interested and engaged the students get when technology is involved in the classroom. At that point, learning becomes fun and they can focus. Some of them don't have computers at home. My school is a K-8 special education setting with the most wonderful and caring staff. Everyone has their focus on the children's well being, safety, and academic success. We all strive to make sure our students earn whatever skills they need to become successful.
