When a child comes to school with no school supplies, he or she feels lonely, sad, and unwelcomed because of the lack of resources. No child should feel unwelcomed on the first day of school. Therefore, the resources/materials asked for will tremendously help a child brighten their day throughout the school year. Every child will have the opportunity to fulfill their academic expectations without having to worry about supplies. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve a child’s self-esteem, but you will ultimately help increase their academic achievements. My students will be able to use their color pencils to make art in their writing journals, the erasers will delete any unwanted information on their journals, and the pencils will be used to write their first essay in first grade. The folders and binders will help keep their work organized. Supplies are vital to achieve and close the achievement gap! Help a child today and make their first day of school be a day they would never forget!
