My scholars are reading tirelessly to reach a school-wide reading goal of 100,000,000 words this year. They're breezing through books, and we need more, especially more books in Spanish. Our school is a Spanish dual immersion school and students read for pleasure daily in both English and Spanish. However, Spanish language books are hard to come by and my classroom library is suffering from a drought. More Spanish language books, like the ones I am requesting, will maintain my students' excitement for reading in Spanish. They love browsing through new options in the classroom, and when my students have the opportunity to choose something they really want to read, they develop a sense of ownership for their reading development and are truly invested in their learning.
