I am a Kindergarten teacher passionate about the success of all my students. Many of my student come from single parent homes and are disadvantaged because of social economics. Nevertheless, my students are eager to learn. My goal is to give my student a solid foundation for learning to read. However, the obstacles that I face is that many of my student has not mastered letter recognition nor has phonemic awareness. Reading and comprehension must be developed in the formative years for continued academic success. To ensure my students get a solid foundation I am asking for support to purchase the open court reading sound cards, age appropriate reading books for my library with a listening center. My students are caterpillars muching on reading, math and science. They are soon to be full and fly away to great heights as social academic butterflies . My students are the best! Thanks in advance for your support.
