We are a performing arts school in the STEAM network, yet we have inadequate technology to support our mission. These computers will be used by sixth grade for many things including WebQuests, which allow students autonomy to explore issues and find their own answers by using computers. These are inquiry-oriented activities in which the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. Guiding learners online helps with analysis, synthesis, and evaluation skills. Twenty First Century skills are imperative. Without them these scholars will be at a disadvantage in a very competitive world. Simply having access to technology opens up a world of unlimited possibilities, all the while working towards changing the world. One click at a time! !
