Students participating in the **Wings and Wigglers** program are elementary-aged learners from diverse academic, social, and cultural backgrounds who benefit from hands-on, experiential learning opportunities. Many students have limited prior exposure to gardening, composting, or direct interaction with living organisms. The program is designed to support a wide range of learners, including English learners, students with varying learning styles, and those who thrive in kinesthetic and outdoor learning environments. Through guided, developmentally appropriate activities, students build curiosity, confidence, and responsibility while working collaboratively with peers. The program provides an inclusive learning space where students strengthen academic skills, social-emotional development, and environmental awareness while developing a sense of ownership, pride, and connection to their school and natural world.
