My students need new calculators to accelerate learning in the classroom. The calculators that my students use are very old. These calculators have sticky keys, broken buttons, and blurry displays. It is time for these calculators to retire. My students work hard to learn increasingly difficult math concepts and they deserve the right tools. The calculators will be used by students in class and during assessments assessments. The sharpener is a classroom necessity. My students face many challenges in life. A writing utensil is the last thing I want my students to worry about. Having a working sharpener in my classroom will give my students access to the tools they need to be successful and relieve the stress of a broken pencil.
