This will be my first year teaching in person. I would like to receive books to establish a classroom library for my students. Growing up, I recall nestling up in bean bags in the corner of my classrooms, with many wonderful books that my teacher provided for me. I want to provide my students with the opportunity to read quality books that have diverse storylines and characters. Every child deserves the opportunity to read books that serve as windows into their own lives… with characters and plots that are reflective of their own cultures, families, and identities. All of these books will directly be used with students. Students will have the opportunity to check-out any of these books. I will use some books as a part of various units throughout the school year as well.
