I want to help my students learn activities that will keep them active long after they leave me or any school. If I can teach them games that they enjoy playing now, I can hopefully instill a love for being active later in life. Nothing excites me more than students excited about moving and being active. I have asked for different equipment to get my students outside. The Kan Jam will work on frisbee throwing skills. The two Go-Sports Ladder Toss games, three Dart Tossing Games, and the three Ring Toss Games, will work on their under hand throws and throwing at targets. All of the activities will contribute to positive social interactions as well. I will be able to use all of these materials for all ages, which is great.
We often put an emphasis on team sports, but team sports are not for everyone and team sports often end after high school or college for most students. Teaching life long activities that can be played outside will hopefully help my students connect more with their families at home and help promote an active lifestyle now and for many years to come.
