My students are 3-5 years of age and attend a full-day Head Start program within a public school. We are in a very low-income neighborhood and most of the students live in nearby housing projects. Several of them are foster children, and some have special needs. Our children live in a crowded urban area and although Lake Michigan is just a few blocks from our school, many have never been to the shore.
