My students are hungry to learn anything, and they give a lot of time, effort, sweat (and sometimes tears) to achieve their academic goals. They often work together to help each other out in class and at home as they encounter difficult and challenging topics. Every student in my class is preparing for college and has challenged themselves with AP course work. They are a diverse group of juniors and seniors studying physics, coming from differing backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic situations. We are a majority-minority school, and about 55% of our kids qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. This means that some kids have more obstacles in their way when it comes to reaching their goals. We do our best to erase those obstacles and get everyone where they want to be.
