My students are predominately low income students and our school is considered a Title 1 School meaning that a good percentage meet free or reduced-price lunch criteria. Our student population is defined by the number of low-income students enrolled that is about 97%. Our school has a very diverse population accommodating students from Kindergarten to 6th grade. Although our test scores have been below the California Standards we have improved our test scores each year and continue to make progress. Our school is a high turn over school and many students come to us 1 to 2 grade levels behind more affluent schools in the area. We currently run a "Response to Intervention" Program that has allowed us to make great strides in responding to the needs long before our students fall far below the basic level intended.
