They were able to explore and discuss their findings.\r\nWe will be using these scales weekly during our small group math centers. As I introduce addition, they will be able to use the cards that came with the scales for extra practice. They absolutely loved utilizing this fun math tool! I am using this area as my class library. This library is used during ELA centers and also during our choice time. The students love to have their own space to sit and look at books. They are able to converse quietly and retell stories that we have read in class. I also have furry reading buddies nearby (stuffed animals) and phonics phones to use in this library area. These items are the perfect addition to my class! I showed them the books, math manipulatives, play dough ice cream machine, games, and crafts that were all sent to our class. They started to clap and jump up and down with excitement. This couldn't have happened without donors like you.\r\nI decided to separate the activities into 6 centers. Each group of students were able to explore, create, and learn during the 15 minutes of each center. I even had them taste different flavors of ice cream and we graphed the results of our favorite kind. The students loved creating their own flavor with the playdough, matched the number of links to the number on a cone, matched a letter on a scoop to a letter on a cone, and doing ice cream picture puzzles. I had the room decorated with the 3 giant cones that came with the funding of this project. I can't thank you enough for helping to make our end of the school year a fantastic one!
