As a school, we are introducing Performing Arts into the K-8 curriculum! The goal is to facilitate and guide students' work through their emotional and not just academic, growth. In addition, the performing arts will support their literacy, speech and language skills. Having both a literal and metaphorical "platform" for presentations and performances, offers a sense of artistry and authenticity to their experience in my room. The best thing is that all teachers will be able to use the risers for their own holiday presentations when parents come to watch their children sing, dance, and recite. As this is a new program I am making do with the few resources I've gathered over the years as a middle school reading teacher but I most assuredly need more drama resources! Please help my kids have an amazing and authentic experience. Thank You!
