I am a K-6 teacher in an inner-city school. My district has experienced severe budget cuts and there are shortages of materials that our students deserve. Thank goodness for DonorsChoose! I have a very unique teaching position called Math Enhancement for Grades K-6. I go into each homeroom once a week and teach a 35-minute math lesson. Many homerooms have inclusion students with Special Needs and Autism. My student goals are Common Core Standard driven. They usually match the teachers' but I also have the choice to spend extra lessons on priority skills and concepts, using games. Games are motivators for every child to have fun and learn at the same time.
