I teach 62 incredibly diverse learners. They show up each day striving to excel in not only their academics but also a host of other extra curricular activities. They continue to grow and succeed against all odds and it is my honor and pleasure to help them along the way. Our school is an inner city school in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students face many adversities both inside and outside of the classroom. It would be easy for them to give up on literacy and education, but so many of them are hungry to break the cycles of generational poverty. It is my goal to provide an inclusive and safe environment that fosters a love of learning and literature. As their teacher, I want to be able to provide my students with every book, activity, or item that may increase their joy and excitement for learning.
