This undertaking involves placing a recorder in the hands of each student, to learn music by practing at home, and consequently take up interest in band past elementary school and further their musical pursuits. This will give them practice maintaining an instrument, devoting to outside rehearsal and maybe even performing in their community off campus. My ultimate aspiration is to present my students with an option for a career choice, or at least a means of coping with the stresses that life will throw at them. Furthermore, it will offer them a way to appreciate the aesthetic beauty of sounds that they themselves will create. This is my reason for taking on this project.
