This year I want to incorporate flexible seating into my classroom to provide students with choice and ownership over their own learning. Flexible seating is known to help kids collaborate and stay focused on what's their school work. I have asked for scoop rocker chairs that allow the kids to choose their spot in the room but will be easily stacked up whenever space is needed. The dry erase clipboards will serve two purposes: one will be a hard surface while they work in a different seating option, and two will be to practice new concepts that are taught whole group. These materials will benefit many students for many years to come.
