With the drastic changes in learning environments since the Covid pandemic, students have spent more time within a family unit and less time navigating working with peers. Learning to identify and experience emotions appropriately within a class environment is essential. In order to teach my students to read, write or solve math problems, it starts with meeting each child where they are socially and emotionally. I believe this project will be the perfect addition to our classroom routine. Each book and activity has a specific purpose and will help our class community identify how to handle emotions and situations we face every day. My vision for this area will make an immediate positive impact on my students, spilling over from individual students to our classroom, our school, and our homes.
