Our school has an aging collection of books. The previous librarian focused on STEAM projects for students and we have amazing STEAM activities for kids. Now we need to focus on the books! Students are looking for books that are "windows and mirrors" to the world. Windows show readers characters and situations that are different from themselves and mirrors reflect the life of the reader. Books provide the opportunity for students to see themselves or the world around them from a different perspective. Now more than ever students need to realize that even though people are different from them they still have the same wants, needs and feelings.

About my class
