My second graders are inquisitive, friendly, intelligent, and quite culturally diverse. I have a class of 21 students. It is a wonderful group of children. Our school is approximately 30% free or reduced meals. The parents/guardians are involved and committed to their child's education. The last 2 years I taught kindergarten; therefore, many of the children I have in second grade I had 2 years ago. Our school continues to have an API score of over 800. I have a standing personal goal to teach all of my students to love reading, expand their vocabulary and to possess a continual excitement for learning and exploring new academic frontiers. My students are excited about learning and I want to teach them with every resource that I can possibly secure for them.
