The students building structures with jelly beans will be a fun engineering project for students of all ages. My second grade students will work in cooperative learning groups to be able to learn how to work in teams and learn what team work means. My students will do several activities before we build our structures such as graphing, making predictions, making probabilities, experiments on paper, and creative writing. The materials will allow the students to grow as a class and also utilize their critical thinking and problem solving skills. This will allow them to gain knowledge for the next year.
