My classroom has a mix of 9th through 12th graders for both Health and Wellness and Physical Education classes. The students come from Hartford Connecticut, but in reality they come from all around the world. Many immigrate to the state for various reasons. I teach life skills that are needed in today's world that are crucial for a healthy life. The skills they learn from my class will assist them when navigating the many dangers and beauty the would has to offer. The Boy's Soccer team is the same mix of students who make up an international team, that often will compete with suburban town with substantially more resources and family support than my players are used to having. Creating a family structure within the team is my goal; getting them to care about each other on and off the field is a struggle, but the success of the team requires it.
