The materials requested will help students understand that different tools accomplish different things in art. Some tools are for decorative purpose while others work to manipulate the material itself. Scissors are a great tool but not so much for cutting cardboard. Other tools such as razor cardboard cutters are too dangerous and do not cut as smoothly. Using these specific tools allow the student to learn how to manipulate and design their architectural elements on their own. The bottom chipboard will represent the solid foundation our houses will be constructed on. Also, it will make it easy to carry.
