With the appropriate scientific tools, my students will be able design prototypes and continue to change and improve designs for various projects and investigations in class. Some project examples include creating mouse trap cars, electromagnetic fishing poles, and egg drop containers. We currently do not have enough working balances for an entire class. Many of the balances we have had over the years need to be replaced. This project would enable my students to have new learning experiences that would otherwise not be possible. Using a triple-beam balance is not only an Indiana state standard but also a science skill that students will need as they enter high school and prepare to go to college.
