My Environmental Systems students are "Environmental Warriors" who stay after school every week to plan our attack to save the earth! So far, our enthusiasm for ecology has helped us start a paper recycling campaign at school and plant hundreds of trees with our city government. Our students are dedicated and passionate about the environment around our polluted city. They are a group of caring high school students who thrive in spite of their low-income neighborhood and the high dropout rate at our school because they care deeply about environmental issues. They are passionate enough to spend all afternoon making signs and decorating homemade recycling bins, energetic enough to plant hundreds of trees early on a Saturday morning, and driven enough to succeed in high school and college despite their limited resources. They inspire me to be a better teacher and a better steward of our environment so that the Environmental Warriors may prevail and save the earth!
