As a first year Kindergarten teacher, I did not think that it was possible to meet someone who truly understood my excitement and passion about teaching and learning. However, I quickly came to the realization that my students felt the exact same way! I will never forget when my students said to me, "I love that book. It is the BEST. BOOK. EVER!" after a read aloud of the beloved book, "Pete the Cat- I Love My White Shoes!" At that very moment, I knew that I was dealing with some amazing little learners who had a huge appetite for reading. Every time that I watch them open up a book and start reading, I just love knowing that their imaginations are taking them places that only books can! This upcoming school year, I plan on introducing my students to even more of the wonderful world of reading.
