My students have a great deal of structure in their lives. I want to create a free and creative atmosphere for my students. My plan is for students to use floor cushions and clipboards for pencil/ paper work and to have the freedom to explore the room in a calm, softly lit atmosphere. I am asking for funding to provide cushions, lighting, and clipboards to my students. These materials will be used year after year to enhance the learning atmosphere. I want to move away from the desk and chair formula used for years in educaiton. Instead I will focus on student choice, movable, flexible seating, and setting the stage for a student led classroom.
